One North Cup 1.0 is a Hackathon held by Non-Profit Organization, where the world’s greatest talents compete to solve the world’s most pressing challenges using technology. Driven by evolving AI together, we wish to help Indonesian students to increase their exposure in AI world.

Timeline


REGISTRATION
  • Registration opens on 22nd April, 2024.
  • Students can register for the hackathon as a team of 4.
  • Submission, theme and deadline for the hackathon will be announced after registration via email.
SCORING
  • One North Team will evaluate all submitted entries based on pre-defined judging criteria.
  • This evaluation period will take approximately 2-3 weeks.
INVITATION
  • Students who successfully advance to the semi-final round will receive an email invitation from the One North Team.
  • The email will detail the next steps and information about the offline event.
EVENT DAY
  • Semi-finalists will attend a 3-day, 2-night offline event in May 2024 (tentative).
  • This event will involve further presentations, workshops, and potentially additional challenges.

  1. What is a Hackathon?
    A: Hackathon is a programming competition in which competitors use technology to build innovative projects within 36 hours. There will be opportunities to win cool prizes, learn from our key-note speakers, and network with fellow AI Enthusiast
  2. Where and when will it be hosted?
    A: One North Cup 1.0 online application will held in April 2024 – May 2024, while the final round will be held on May 2024 in Jakarta, Indonesia. We will provide Whatsapp Group for participants to get in touch with each other approximately one month prior to the event
  3. Who can participate?

    We encourage all Indonesia University students who are interested in learning more about Hackathons, programming, and the tech industry to join!
  4. Do I have to know coding?
    A:
    Nope! You can learn along the way or team up with experienced programmers, Skills such as designing, business planning, etc are all going to impact the projects in various ways!
  5. How much does it cost?
    A:Nothing at all! One North pleminary round will be hosted online and the Finalist Bootcamp and accommodation fee will be covered by One North Foundation. However, please note that transportation fee for finalist who got through to our Finals will not be covered.
  6. How do I apply?

    Teams of up to 4 participants are encouraged. Individual applications are welcome, but workload and scoring will be designed for teams of 4.
  7. Can my team consist of members from different universities?
    A: Absolutely! The One North Cup Hackathon encourages diversity. You can form a team with talented individuals from any university from Indonesia. This is a great chance to leverage a wider range of skills and perspectives to approach the challenge.
  8. How will the projects will be judged?
    A: Originality is absolutely paramount! Projects will be judged with a heavy emphasis on groundbreaking ideas and fresh approaches. While unconventionality, practicality, and scalability are all important factors, projects that simply rehash existing solutions will be eliminated during the selection process. We’re looking for innovative minds who can push the boundaries and tackle the theme in a truly unique way!
